How do Pantogar® capsules work?

Hair cells are among the cells that divide most actively in the human body. If you were to string together the growth of each hair, 30m of hair would be created per day over the entire head.

Pantogar® capsules provide the hair roots with a variety of nutrients that are important for the formation of new hair cells.

Pantogar® capsules thus stimulate the hair cells to form new cells; the hair goes from the resting or loss phase back into the active growth phase. Pantogar® capsules are well tolerated.

How to use Pantogar®?

Take one Pantogar® capsule three times per day for 3-6 months. Pantogar® capsules should be swallowed whole with some liquid.

The key to success is patience.
The treatment period is related to the growth cycle: hair growth and hair loss are a slow process and it can take some weeks for a telogen hair to actually fall out. This means that even after the start of treatment, hairs that were already in “shedding mode” before the start of treatment may fall out.

During the treatment with the Pantogar® capsules, the metabolism of the hair root is activated directly and the formation of new cells is stimulated. Hair loss is halted and the hair returns to the growth phase, restoring the natural balance. However, as hair only grows around one centimeter per month, it takes a few months for the success of the treatment to become visible.

Remember that everybody is unique, so Pantogar® capsules take effect at a different speed – depending on the phase of life most of your hair is currently in and how quickly it reacts to the supply of active substances.

Why do I have to use the product for at least three months?

The hair root usually takes three months until it can fully resume its activity and produce new hair cells. Unfortunately, many users become impatient and abandon therapy after only a few weeks. Studies have shown that as many as 30% of patients no longer comply with their treatment plan after just 10 days.

In the directions for use included with each medicine, you will find information about the dosage. Your doctor or pharmacist may also give you a recommendation that is different to the directions for use for your particular case. The term “compliance” is used to describe taking your medication (e.g. Pantogar®) according to the recommended guidelines.

The dosage recommendation and treatment duration are determined by clinical studies. This knowledge is translated into the dosage recommendations, which you will find in the directions for use of a medication.

The Pantogar® active ingredients

Pantogar® capsules supply the hair with the vital substances that it needs to form new hair cells. And they do this in the exact dosage and combination that can optimally activate hair growth.

Pantogar® is also suitable for long-term use and can be repeated throughout the year if necessary.

The nutrients in Pantogar® improve hair growth from within.

The hair root has a very active metabolism. It constantly produces new cells for growing hair. Keratinocytes (key cells in hair) undergo cell division faster than any other cell in the body.

The newly formed hair cells occupy the space of the previous cells and push them upwards in the hair root canal. The more the cells in the hair shaft are pushed upwards, the more keratin is produced in the cells. This keratin leads to cornification and ultimately the death of these cells. The keratinized cells are pushed upwards even further and form the visible hair above the surface of the scalp. 

Overall, hair relies on a strong microcirculation that provides nutrients for adequate growth.* The nutrients in Pantogar®, including millet extract, L-cystine, and calcium pantothenate, then stimulate and improve hair growth and hair re-growth.

1. Growth Phase (Anagenic Phase)

This is the phase of active hair growth. It lasts around 2 to 8 years. In this period hair growth is sustained by the absorption of nutrients from the capillaries supplying the scalp and root. This phase is very active and flows smoothly if the root is provided with sufficient nutrients.

In the healthy hair growth cycle, 80% to 90% of the hairs are in the growth phase.

2. Transitional Phase (Catagenic Phase)

The transitional phase signals the end of the active growth of a hair follicle. During a period of around 2 weeks, the hair root cells temporarily stop hair production, and the root shrinks. 

Between 1% and 3% of hairs are in the transitional phase.

3. Resting Phase (Telogenic Phase)

During the resting phase, the hair remains in the root for up to 3 months. It then falls out due to washing, combing or hair re-growth, for example.

During a usual hair growth cycle, the daily loss of up to 100 hairs is normal. Between 10% and 15% of the hairs are in the resting phase.*

Following these 3 phases, the hair-growth cycle starts from the very beginning.
